ILO package

Individualised Living Options (ILOs) are personalised support packages developed by thoroughly considering each person’s likes, abilities, needs, and available support within their community and informal networks. An ILO focuses on the support provided rather than the housing itself and is independent of whether someone owns their home, rents, or is eligible for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding. This approach ensures tailored support that respects individual choices and circumstances.

ILO providers are key in shaping a life vision through tailored support arrangements, aiding decisions on living situations and the enabling supports for a fulfilling life. An ILO is divided into two stages: Stage 1 – Exploration and Design, focusing on personalised planning and Stage 2 – Support Model, implementing the designed support framework. This structured approach ensures support aligns with individual preferences and life goals, facilitating meaningful living arrangements and comprehensive assistance.

ILO Stages Available

Stage 1 - Exploration and Design

This support helps participants explore and design their Individualised Living Options (ILO). Providers assist in understanding the participant’s vision for their future home, explore strengths, and how various supports can enhance their life. They also help in choosing living arrangements and support structures, assess risks, and consider alternative options. The process involves designing a tailored support package with the participant, potentially including finding housing and connecting with other services.

Stage 2 - Support Model

The Individualised Living Option (ILO) is a tailored support package that helps participants achieve their living goals. It combines primary and additional supports, using both formal services and help from family or friends. This flexible package also includes monitoring and redesigning resources to ensure it meets changing needs, all through collaboration between the participant, their family, or a chosen provider.
